The moment that made my night

This weekend I took extra hours at work to help out Parking Services for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. I thought that I'd just do my hours, make sure cars were going the right direction, surprised how many WEREN'T going the right direction, and call it a weekend. First two nights, FROZE my feet off. Saturday night, they put me right in front of the Temple Tunnel to make sure that the pedestrians didn't get run over by the Security carts transporting people to the concert. I didn't even have to wear my jacket, but my feet were getting tired after standing there for over 3 hours in basically one spot. About 20 minutes before the concert, I was watching the carts go by, counting down the time before I can go sit down, when a cart goes by, I look at the passengers (which I have done with all the carts) and in the seat facing backwards sitting next to his grandson, not more than five feet away, was President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. He looked up at me, smiled his wonderful smile, waved and said hi, TO ME. I waved and said hi back. All of a sudden, my feet no longer hurt, I had a big goofy grin on my face that for some reason wouldn't come off for the rest of the night, and I couldn't wait till after break to go back to my post. After our dinner break, I went back to make sure no one got ran over when they brought the carts through again, and here comes President Uchtdorf, sitting on the back again, and once again, waved and smiled at me. It is amazing the feelings that come over you when you are in the presence of such great men, even if it is only for a few seconds. I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

Allison's Baptism

Saturday May 2nd Allison became the newest member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was baptized by her dad with family and friends watching. Her Grandpa Boyack confirmed her and gave her the Gift of the Holy Ghost. We are so proud of her for wanting to be baptized. Paige can't wait for it to be her turn next year. Here are some pictures of the Baptism and some taken the next day with Allison in her dress.

Allison was a little nervous before. She said there were a lot of people that were going to watch her. We told her they were all her family and friends and that they were there because they loved her.

Here is Allie with Grandpa, Daddy, and Uncle Dan

This is our first family picture with Jack. We'll have to get a professional picture done when things aren't so crazy. No offense Kim, great pic considering the subjects you had to work with:)

Here is Allie and Paige on the steps of the Church.

It wouldn't be a photo shoot without some fun, right?

It finally happened!!!!!

They said it happens all the time, but was it wishful thinking on my part that it would actually happen to me? Oh, maybe someday when he is much older. But dreams do come true! The came true for me today. James sat through all of Sacrament. I did not have to get up one time to take him out. Was it the two bags of activities and snacks? Who knows, who cares. I now know that it is not a myth. I am a believer now that 2 year old boys can sit for an hour without having to get up five times. Not only that, but he stayed in Nursery the whole time without mommy or daddy in there with him. Let me tell you, it was nice to sit through all of church and actually hear all the lessons:) Way to go James:):):)

A New Look

This is the second time starting this post. I was almost done when everything went black. James decided to pull the plug (which I can barely get out of the wall). So, here we go again.

I was tired of my old blog layout so I started looking around. I came across Delightful Dots off of my cousin Kellie's blog. Love Them, they are so cute so I decided on this one. Then I wanted to add a few blogs to my favorites. I added Deanna Kemple, then went to her blog. I guess great minds think alike, we picked the same background:) You have great taste Deanna:) There were so many to choose from, I might have to change it often.

Check out Jack's pics. Finally got him posted. There must be 2 Jack Sterling's in Picasa Albums because when I put his name in, I got some pictures from another persons album as well as my own, so I had to change Jack's album name to Jack Jack Sterling:)

Hope you enjoy the new look:)

Pictures, As Promised

The middle of March, we moved into a basement apartment in Bountiful. We finally got our computer out of storage and set up. A few weeks later we got internet set up. Things are going good. Girls had their birthdays and both got little MP3 players. Paige kept asking me to download songs to her player, so I went to a website to listen to which songs we wanted to download and ended up downloading a virus onto our computer. Poor thing, just gets out of storage and then gets sick. We fix the computer, download the pictures and life gets busy. I forgot to update the blog. Then I go onto my sister's blog and notice that we are the last ones on her blog list because we haven't updated in over 2 months. So here are some of the most recent pics.

While living in Roosevelt, we took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum in Vernal. Had to take a pic with the Mammoth.

We also took them to the Dinosaur National Monument. If you couldn't guess, the kids love dinosaurs.

We took James to get his first real haircut (Which he hated) This is before...

And After...

We were going through boxes and the girls were giving everthing to Jack to play with.

Here is Allison and Daddy all ready to go to Allison's 8-year Baptism Bishop's Interview. Allie's Baptism will be May 2nd at 5 pm. She is the first one in her church class and is very excited. We are so proud of her for her desire to get baptized.

Easter Morning, yes, they had chocolate for breakfast, and then we went to church. Surprisingly, James made it through 90% of Sacrament and all of Nursery.

I had to put this one in for my mom. Somewhere, there is a picture of me outside, in my diaper, with my jacket on upside down, ready to go bye-bye. James wanted to go bye-bye with daddy, so he put his jacket on all by himself.

Crazy Cold!!!!!

Just FYI,

Sent the girls to the bus stop this morning. The thermometer read 1 degree. Yes, you read that right 1 degree. The girls had on boots, hats, and two jackets. Hope they don't freeze to death. I hope that you are all warmer than us:)

Yes, We Are Still Alive!!!

Just a quick note to let you know that we are still alive. We moved from my sisters place in West Jordan, to John's sister's place in Roosevelt, UT. This is yet another stop in our crazy life. This is just a temporary stop. Hopefully in the next few months, we will be able to get our own place. Until then, I won't be able to download pictures, since my computer is still in storage. Just so you know, I have been taking pictures, and will do a picture update soon.

Jack Sterling McDevitt was born October 13, 2008. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz. Was colicky for the first few months, but just smiles and laughs all the time now. By far he is my best sleeper. He sleeps an average of 8-10 hours a night now :)

The girls are doing great, making new friends everyday. James is talking more, and getting into everything, and he loves his baby brother.

Hope you all are doing well. I will update you all when things change.
