Hogle Zoo
The kids were invited to a Birthday Party at Hogle Zoo on May 24th. They had a lot of fun making a mask to wear and eating ice cream and cupcakes. After the party we walked around and saw all the animals (that weren't taking naps). My little guy was just as tired as all the cats.
Here are the kids sitting on the elephant statue. James was a little nervous when the statue starting making noises:)
After walking around and seeing the animals, we got to go on the train. Now mind you, the last time James went on the train he was 1 and cranky, and screamed the whole time and just got louder when the whistle blew. Needless to say, the girls did not want him to go on the train.
He was a little nervous when I put him down on the seat next to me to take his picture, but once the train started, he smiled ear to ear. He just had a handful of cheetos, so don't mind the messy face. I cleaned him up after the picture was taken.
Ahh, don't they look like loving sisters????
School Is Out - Let's have fun
On May 30 Grandma and I took the kids to Farm Country and the Dinosaur Museum to celebrate the last day of school. Ok, so they didn't go to their last day of school. It was only for 1 1/2 hours and they had the girls going at different times which meant that I would be at the school either dropping or picking someone up every 45 min. Not during these gas prices thank you very much. So instead of having them go, we went on a "Field Trip"
We were ready for the hot sun, luckily it was overcast and then started to rain when we were done. It's all in the timing. The wagon ride was fun. I was surprised that Paige wanted to go on the wagon and not ride the horses (her usual pick). We hit a big bump and Grandma almost lost her sunglasses off her head and the kids bounced out of their seats. Luckily I had a hold of James. He thought it was great.
Here they are trying to get the horse to come over so they can pet it (sorry, I respected the horses privacy and didn't look to see if it was a boy or girl)
The kids wanted to ride a cow so I gave in. Hold On, you never know when this thing will take off. Once it started raining, we went over to the Dinosaur Museum and walked around. This was the first time that I took James without taking the stroller. He loved it. I had to chase him a couple of times, but it was easier to chase him without the stroller.
Here are the girls at the erosion table making a home for all of the little dinosaurs.
James wasn't so sure about getting dirty, at first...Luckily this stuff comes off easy. He was also more interested in one of the little girls that was playing at the table then in the dirt. Is this my future????
The girls wanted to take a silly picture on the baby dinosaur. I don't think Paige realizes that you do bunny ears on other people, not on yourself:)
James turned the corner and saw the shark, I thought he would get scared, but he ran up to it and started to talk to it.
The kids in the sand pit. They had a lot of fun digging for dinosaurs. That is, until James saw the little girl from the erosion table. Then all he was interested in was following her around and playing where she was playing. Sorry to break up the date buddy, but it was nap time for little man and mom was tired.
